Toronto {Part 1}

We had a great time in Toronto! The first part was super busy as I was trying to show the boy as much Toronto as I could.

The first evening we were there, we had a belated Father’s Day dinner at the Keg. I owe you pictures from that evening as my sister took them with her camera and I forgot to grab them off her before we left. After dinner, us “kids” {me + the boy, my sis + her boy, and my brother} went out for drinks at a patio in the Esplanade. It was a beautiful evening to sit out and relax and chat.

The boy and I went to Toronto for Christmas and we went to Niagara Falls, however, we were there for 10 minutes max as it was windy, and the boy wasn’t thrilled about being outside. On Friday, we redid the falls with my parents, but this time, we actually walked around and went to Clifton Hill before heading to dinner, then the casino.

On Saturday, we went to St. Lawrence Market for lunch where we met up with my sister. We were looking around and were jealous that we don’t have something like this. We picked up some Brie cheese and fig jam, and some hot cheddar cheese. We had lunch at Buster’s Sea Cove which had a super long line up, but it was worth the wait! I had grilled salmon and the boy had some grilled halibut.

We picked up some cupcakes from Prairie Girl Bakery and went to my sister & her boyfriend’s place to have them and cool down a bit.

I loved the look of the peanut butter and jam frosting, but it was a regular cupcake and I can’t have peanut butter. I had a gluten-free red velvet cupcake; it was good, except it was a little too crumbly {is that a word?}. I tried the strawberry frosting and it actually tasted like strawberry! Yummy!!

After our little dessert break… we continued on with our day, but I will post more about that tomorrow. :D

Have you ever been to Toronto or anywhere else in Canada?
What’d you think?

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Canada! We’re hoping our oldest will attend college there…Canada has such an amazing grasp on food labeling and food allergies…
