WIAW #35 – Procrastination

Thanks to Jenn from Peas and Crayons for hosting this link party.

I have resisted planning my meals for the week, so I have been putting off my trip to the grocery store. I keep telling myself to just go grab some basics, but I just couldn’t make myself go!

Anyhoo, yesterday I kicked off my day with some yogurt with a little bit of raspberry jam, chia seeds, slivered almonds, and dark chocolate chips.

My snacks weren’t anything fancy. In the morning, I had a “Perfectly Simple” cranberry almond bar. I got these at Target over the weekend, and from the looks of it, I was expecting the consistency to be like Larabars. The consistency was similar, but it also had a lot of extra crunchy bits which tasted like walnut shells. I wasn’t impressed. In the afternoon, I had almonds.

snacksFor lunch, I had a Wendy’s Berry Almond salad without any dressing; I found that the berries made it sweet enough that I didn’t need the dressing {I didn’t check to see if the dressing was gluten-free since I wasn’t going to consume it}. This was my favourite salad from Wendy’s but it’s a seasonal one, so I was stoked to find that it was back!

I didn’t feel like cooking regular spaghetti as I had some recently, so I made some zucchini & carrot noodles with a julienne peeler. I then steamed them for about 4 minutes. These noodles are a great substitute for spaghetti squash when you just don’t have the time! I went back for seconds…

My apologies for not featuring more snacks, but I’ve been slacking with my snacks as well!

Do you like going grocery shopping or avoid it until your fridge is empty?

  2. I used to LOVE going grocery shopping… but now that I’ve been super busy AND I’ve set myself on a grocery budget, it’s not quite as fun as it used to be ;)

I definitely want to try making zucchini noodles!

I used to love grocery shopping when I’d go with my sister… I called her my cart pusher.. that’s all she did. It helped to have someone around.

I like reading your posts. But, where did you go?!
