I was feeling a little under the weather last week, so I thought I would spare you from another round of sick WIAW involving OJ and GF chicken noodle soup :) I wasn’t sure if I had a cold or allergies, but after a few days and some confusion, it turned out to be a cold.
Yesterday, I finally felt better and took photos of my eats.
After much internal debate in the morning, I finally decided on a mango Chobani with GF granola and an apple.
I was on calls for most of yesterday and I had a snack when I didn’t have much time between calls: a Cherry Pie Larabar (again!)
For a late lunch, I quickly put together a dry tuna sandwich with cheese (we were out of mayo and plain greek yogurt), and cut up some jicama. I added lime juice and Tajín to the jicama.
After my last call, my fiancé and I rushed out of the house to go knife shopping. We signed up for a Knife Skills class at Central Market and we were asked to bring out own knives. He got this an 8-inch hollow-ground chef knife. Before class started, they served us a salad and tortilla soup.
Typically, I’m not big on tortilla soup as it can be rather heavy on the tomato, but this one was delicious. It had the right amount of kick to it. The class itself was very informative; we loved the instructor Cindy. She was very helpful and very safety conscious, and passed on a lot of tips to us. We learned to properly use our knives, slice, mince, dice, and even supreme citrus. The dessert we had used the oranges we supremed during class. I would highly recommend taking a knife skills class!
