We got hitched!

Almost 3 weeks ago, my significant other and I tied the knot here in Austin. It was a beautiful day near Lake Travis, and my cousin Paty (and the rest of my family who helped out) did an amazing job decorating the venue — it turned out better than I could have imagined! My husband and I were excited to have so many of our loved ones come to celebrate with us. It’s true what they say, the day (and night) FLEW by! Before we knew it, the last song came on, and we tried to get as much dancing as we possibly could get in there! We won’t be getting the photos from our photographer for a few more weeks, but here are a few taken by my family and me.

I can’t wait to get the photos from our photographer! I’ll be posting some of them once we get them.

For our honeymoon, we went to the Sandals resort in Antigua. We loved the resort, we had mostly great weather, and the restaurants all had gluten-free options! The water was incredible, and we had such a relaxing time. It was just what we both needed! We didn’t take a lot of photos there, and to be honest, I still haven’t downloaded them from our iPhones and cameras.

When we got back, it was sad to come home to a pretty empty house. It had been so lively with members of our families staying and visiting the week leading up to the wedding. We’ve been back for almost a week now, so things are settling into our new normalcy.

Hope you guys are well!

Quick update…

Hello dear readers,
I find it all too easy to put my blog aside when life gets a little hectic… and that’s what happened during the last two weeks. Here’s a quick update though:

  • My fiancé and I finally picked a venue for the wedding and a date!
  • In my off time, I’ve been on pinterest looking for ideas for the wedding.
  • I signed up to do the Houston marathon next January; training begins in September.
  • I’ve also been trying to be more consistent with working out because I gained a few pounds since the beginning of the year, and it just makes it harder to run {I’ve got it all backwards.. I want to lose weight for the marathon, not so much for the wedding!}
  • Work was pretty busy last week as I was back to doing tech support (hadn’t done that in almost 5 years!), and I’m ramping up for my short “vacation” which starts this evening…
  • I’m going to Monterrey to visit my relatives; I haven’t been in 6 years.
  • I’m bringing my parents home with me and they’ll be here for a week before they go back to Canada (hopefully we’ll get a new recipe out of her!)
  • Maya lost a baby canine today! She had us freaked out yesterday because it looked like her tooth was broken, then my fiancé saw that there was another tooth right next to it
  • Edwin is all better with his GI problems, but Maya has them again (I’m really hoping she won’t pass them back to Eddie)

I think that’s it for now… If I have time this evening, I’ll post my eats from last Tuesday, no promises though!

Happy belated Canada day to my Canadian readers!

Hope my American readers have an awesome 4th of July!

I’ll see you soon :D

Hello from Mississppi!

One of the boy’s closest friends is getting married on Saturday, so the boy invited me to come with him.

Our trip began on Wednesday afternoon with a little mishap…we left my luggage at home!! How does that happen? Well, I left it in the bedroom and I assumed the boy would put it in the car since he was loading it. We were in such a rush to leave that I didn’t check to make sure it was in there.
The good thing is that I had packed at least half my clothes in his luggage as he checked his, and I just wanted to bring a carry-on.

We bought some essentials last night, but was I glad I had packed my Synthroid and Cytomel separately!!
We’re about to go shopping, but let me tell you, there isn’t much around here!

I’ll keep you guys posted!
